So Long to a “Cool” 2006
In January 2006, David Lereah, chief economist for the National Association of REALTORS® predicted that “the key word for the housing market in 2006 is balance, with a return to a more normal rate of price growth”. According to Lereah, cooling sales are necessary for the long-term health of the housing market.1
Indeed, 2006 was a “cool” year compared to the overheated pace of 2005 housing sales. The market is in the process of approaching normalcy as the rise in home prices adjusts closer to the long-term norm, which is just a percentage point or so above the overall rate of inflation.
Marketing Initiatives in 2006 At Century 21 Mortgage, we continually strive to support your success in promoting mortgage, even as markets change and evolve. This year was no exception. In 2006 we launched our Special Financing Program—a strategic marketing tool that benefits the buyer, the seller and the real estate professional. The Special Financing Program is invaluable in a competitive market, as it helps to differentiate listings, attract more buyers and sell homes faster.
During the past 12 months, we also introduced enhancements to MortgageLoanStatus.com, allowing real estate professionals to more easily view details of multiple customers’ loans. Agents can see a complete list of their customers who have given consent for viewing their loans in process. MortgageLoanStatus.com also features our new “What to Expect at Closing” demo that prepares homebuyers for the “big day” by telling them what they need to bring to closing, the documents they will need to sign, and much more. Also in 2006, we added new capabilities to the Mortgage Resource Center Web site, enabling real estate professionals to order enhanced Mortgage Listing Sheets with customizable financing scenarios as well as options for adding agent photo and contact details.
A Note of Thanks As we look at this year’s accomplishments and get ready for the year ahead, the entire Century 21 Mortgage team would like to extend a sincere note of thanks to you. We appreciate the opportunity to assist your customers with their home financing needs during 2006, and we’re looking forward to serving all of your customers in the coming year. All of us at Century 21 Mortgage wish you and your family Happy Holidays and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
